Analyse the ways in which meaning is constructed in this media product.
In this media product, we see a young lady of the white ethnicity who has a stand out feature of her lip colour since the bright red stands out on her skin and face, she is also an attractive young lady with a feisty look which will impress men or satisfy men since this is a factor of the male fantasy, and maybe if the wives of he men were to show them this they may be tricked into thinking this lipstick will improve other things like facial feature s and not just the lips. The bracelets on her wrist which are pure cherry red match with the colour of her lips making them stand out more, the photo looks like a method of advertising this product since it contains a lot of information on one picture and has lots of bold letters and different colours to stand out to the reader.
The attention is first brought to the model who is previewing this product for a visualisation to the reader, she looks the reader directly in the eye creating attention from the reader since the advertisement is engaging with audiences.The makeup on the actor looks very professional and will bring in attention from the viewers to want to have similar looks makeup-wise and therefore will buy this product in hope to become similar to this beautiful looking model. Then the focus moves over to the bold lettered, title like font. The font includes sans-serif and says "without a trace" meaning maybe the lip stick leaves no traces and is accurate to the lips. In the "Mise-En-Scene" we see that there is a pink wall with other bright colour and dark pink spray paint writing, these colours associate with the female fantasy and the fact there is a lot of pink colours and obviously since it is promoting lip stick.
When we connote the body language of the model we see she is drinking an unidentified drink and rests the straw on her lips. Her lips look big and red making them stand out more compared to smaller sized lips and it gives a seductive feel to the actions of the woman and gives the fact that this product makes the model look more attractive.
The colour co-ordination of the background matches the colour of the products they are promoting. Rimmel (the producers) display 5 different lip stick products which all have a pinkish pattern on the stick wether it be lip print marks in pink or simply a pink painted lid. Rimmel's trade mark logo of the Union Jack flag is also covered in a pink colour which could also imply the fact that maybe this brand is taking over the UK and becoming most popular in England. And some of the flags are seen with tears and rips in them which could suggest sassiness which is another thing that associates o the young girl fantasy of the famous quote; "girls just wanna have fun".
The 5 lip products are seen as if they are tied together giving it a feel that they must be bought in bundles and all of these 5 products should be purchased together, the product which is displayed onto the model is not named and not pointed out in the 5 that are displayed meaning if the red one on the model was the one customers wanted, they would have to go out of their way to find out more about which product is on the model.
In a smaller sub-heading underneath the bigger heading we see a list of pros which the lip sticks will give you such as "up to 16 hours of liberation, Kiss proof" which all give the viewers another reason to be interested in this product. and it is giving reasons why their product differs from others.
